This story can be found in Mark 4:35-41 and it is a very well-known story and often done in schools or sunday schools. I love this story it is really easy to get creative with.
I also did this story as part of a University project, where I had to create a teaching pack for a Bible story. I have included the links for that on this post.
Jesus calms the storm lower This is part of the Universtiy project and is aimed at Primary school teachers to help them when it comes to teaching on this subject. This is a story sequencing sheet, there is also a higher version of this sheet that I have put on here yet but will do at some point. The other sheet is still on my external hard drive which I am not connected to at the moment.
Emotions work sheet lo This sheet is again to be used along side the national curriculum. The sheet encourages the development of empathy and the understanding of emotions. In this sheet the children are asked to think about how different charactors may be feeling and express these feelings in either words or pictures.
Now on to the stuff that was developed for the after school club
Jesus Calms the storm teaching
Games sheets I came up with a few games for this theme. Yes I did a pairs game again the pictures are included bellow
lables for the wall One of the games that I thought of was a game that involved running to different areas of the room. This document helps the children and leaders to remember which area is which.
prompt for the story This story lends itself to actions. So while the story is being told there are simple things that the children can do to interact with the story. The actions will help the children to remember what was going on in the story too. These were prompts to help the children to listen and know when to perform the appropriate actions.
how to make This is a simple craft that I did while I was in Africa. While in Africa we stuck paper people and paper boats to lollypop sticks. This time however we used wooden people already on sticks and just stuck on the boats.
